Every spring my family and I go strawberry picking. We pick a gallon worth of strawberries and I always make this strawberry jam. It’s something that I look forward to every year! I eat it on my toast in the mornings and it can even be used as a topping in desserts. The best part is that it’s super easy to make, only three ingredients! If you love strawberry jam, you’ll love this recipe.
Ingredients:
- Strawberries
- Granulated Sugar
- Lemon Juice
How to Make Strawberry Jam:
Dice strawberries into fine pieces, the smaller the better, until you have 2 cups worth of diced strawberries.
Add strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice to a medium size pot and stir to combine.
Place pot on stove over medium/high heat. Take a potato masher and stir/mash frequently.
Once mixtures reaches a rolling boil, set timer to 10 minutes. Continue to mash frequently for the 10 minutes while the jam continues to boil.
Once the 10 minutes is up, remove the jam from the stove. Transfer the jam evenly to both jars and let cool fully before transferring to the refrigerator.
I like to let my jam sit in the fridge for at least a few hours, preferably overnight, before eating as it will continue to thicken in the fridge.
How Long Can My Jam Be Stored?
Jam can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a few weeks or in the freezer for up to three months.
