Shrimp has always been one of my favorite foods since I can remember. I like it plain with cocktail sauce, battered and fried, and I especially love honey garlic shrimp. The sweetness from the honey paired with the spices is such a delicious combination. It’s definitely one of my favorite side dishes, but can also be the main dish as well! Here’s how I make my honey garlic shrimp.
Ingredients:
- Raw Shrimp, Peeled & Deveined
- Honey
- Garlic Powder
- Soy Sauce
- Pepper
- Salt
- Paprika
How to Make Honey Garlic Shrimp:
Rinse your shrimp with cold water and pat fully dry with a paper towel.
Transfer shrimp to a bowl and season with the garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. Add in soy sauce and honey. Stir to fully coat shrimp.
Add approximately 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil to a pan on the stove and turn heat to medium. Make sure the oil is fully distributed throughout the pan.
Once the pan has heated, add shrimp in a single layer, do not overlap. Discard any leftover marinade, you don’t want the pan to have any excess liquid, other than the olive oil.
Cook shrimp approximately 2-3 minutes, then flip each shrimp individually using tongs. Continue cooking until shrimp is cooked through, approximately another 2 to 3 minutes. Be sure to only flip once and leave shrimp undisturbed while it’s cooking. That helps the shrimp get that nice, brown char.
Once done cooking, remove from pan and serve.
Enjoy!
