Penne alla Vodka
This penne alla vodka is a delicious blend of flavors of onion, garlic, and basil in a rich, creamy tomato sauce. It’s the perfect dinner when you’re craving pasta!

- 1 lb penne pasta Feel free to use your favorite type of pasta
- 1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
- 4 garlic cloves
- 1 medium onion
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
- 50 ml mini vodka bottle
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2-3 leaves fresh basil
Start by chopping the onion and basil and mincing the garlic and set aside.
Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat on the stove. Add in onion and garlic and sautee until translucent, approximately 10 minutes.
Add in red chili flakes and vodka and stir. Simmer for approximately 10 minutes or so to reduce the vodka.
Add in the crushed tomatoes and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Optional Step: Use an immersion blender at this point if you want a smoother consistency.
Reduce heat to low/medium and add the heavy cream and stir. Simmer for approximately 30 minutes.
While your sauce is simmering, boil your water for the pasta and cook according to package instructions.
Add your pasta and basil to the sauce and stir to fully combine.
